Naked Weddings

As nude recreation grows in popularity, weddings sans clothes are also gaining steam, in private clubs, on cruise ships and in any available open field.

On a sunny, August day in the Berkshire Mountains, 600 guests stood waiting to witness Pamela and Lee tie the knot. But as the bride walked down the aisle, no one marveled at her wedding dress.

She wasn’t wearing one. And Lee, her husband shortly to be, wore little more than a top hat and bowtie. As for the audience, some people wore hats and others had shawls around their shoulders, but most did not dress at all that morning. Only 12 were fully clothed.

“We worked for many months to craft a ceremony that was very expressive of our thoughts and our beliefs,” Pamela said. Having a nude wedding was “so expressive of who we are,” she said. “It’s so natural, it’s so unpretentious.”

Pamela and Lee, both in their 50s, are part of a growing number of nudists opting to have nude weddings to complement their lifestyle. As nudists, they eat, sleep, exercise, and sometimes work in the raw. For them, nude weddings are simply a natural extension of their everyday life.

Oh my!  I don’t think that grandma would want to come to one of those.

Free Weddings In City of Hell

With a name like Angel Adams, it probably would have been more appropriate had she been married in a town called Paradise. But the Munith woman took the devilishly fun option and married her boyfriend of three years in the Putnam Township hamlet of Hell on Friday.

“I thought I’d take an Angel to Hell,” said her husband, Theodore Raios. “Why not?”

The couple were among dozens who were married for free on Leap Day in Hell’s red-roof chapel.

For some couples, the ceremony was more a formality than anything else.

New Delhi – A seven-year-old tribal girl in India’s eastern state of Jharkhand on Tuesday married a stray dog as part of traditional rituals to ward off an “evil spell”, witnesses said. The wedding took place in a village near the state’s industrial city of Jamshedpur and several relatives of the girl attended the function believing that the union would bode well for the family, a villager Sonu Pariyar said. The dog was made to wear sunglasses and was brought to the venue under a decorated umbrella, while an estimated 150 guests danced to the beating of drums and drank home-made liquor.

Guide Dogs Marry

Filed under: strange wedding stories — by weddingplanningnews @ 5:27 pm

— Two popular Martin County guide dogs are getting together this weekend to tie the leash.

Dr. John Metzler, the groom, and Gracie Kennedy, the bride, are having the first guide dog wedding Saturday as a fundraiser for the 20/200 Fellowship, an nonprofit resource center for the visually impaired.

The theme, “Recipe to Romance,” was inspired by Disney’s “Lady and the Tramp.” Spaghetti and meatballs will be served to humans only as the dogs are on strict diets to keep them healthy. The wedding cake will be fashioned out of Devil Dogs prepackaged snacks.

What was supposed to be a night of wedding bliss turned into a nightmare for a bride and groom who are now suing the banquet facility where they say their reception was turned upside-down.

Sans and Marcy Milbury of Danvers, Mass., have filed suit against the company that owns the popular Granite Rose, claiming drunken guests at another wedding party attacked their attendants and vomited all over a restroom shared by the two wedding parties on Sept. 8, 2007.

AVON LAKE — The bride, a 2-year-old pug named Abby, was eager in her off-the-shoulder wedding gown.

But the groom, a 7-month-old pug named Gus, seemed just a bit reluctant.

In the end, all went as planned, and the couple wed in the Las Vegas-style “Chapel of Puppy Love.”

Abby, a 2-year-old therapy dog, kept her focus on the Rev. Margaret DeFord as the minister read the wedding vows, including the promise to “refrain from biting when a simple growl will do.”

It’s a cute idea that raised a lot of money.  But this may be proof that weddings are going to the dogs.

Accident Doesn’t Keep Bride from Wedding

The marvels of medical technology allowed Kaylee Gleeson to marry Josh Kelly as planned at the weekend.
She strode proudly down the aisle at her wedding ceremony, held together by metal rods and screws.  Six months ago the 22-year-old Blackbutt beauty therapist broke her back in three places while attempting a motorcycle jump at a racetrack in Nowra, Australia.
